Steph and Ayesha Curry Raise Concerns Over Proposed Multi-Family Development Near Their $30 Million Home

Stephen Curry and his wife Ayesha are speaking out against the planned development of multi-family housing close to their stunning California mansion. According to the NY Post, the couple shared their concerns in an email to Atherton officials, a highly exclusive community, claiming that the proposed three-story townhouses would infringe upon their much-needed privacy.

The Bay Area power couple, known for their bold stance on social justice issues, expressed their discomfort at joining the wealthy elites in their objections.

“We hesitate to add to the ‘not in our backyard’ (literally) rhetoric, but we wanted to send a note before today’s meeting,” they wrote on Jan. 18. “Safety and privacy for us and our kids continues to be our top priority and one of the biggest reasons we chose to live in Atherton.”

Atherton, a city populated by tech tycoons, sports stars, and global business leaders, is set to present a reluctant plan to the state outlining their efforts to boost housing density this week.

The parcel adjacent to the Curry household is facing a rezoning to make way for the owner’s proposed multi-family development.

If their petition isn’t granted, the Curry family has taken action to secure their privacy by further petitioning the local government to install fencing and vegetation around their home.

“Should that not be sufficient for the state, we ask that the town commits to investing in considerably taller fencing and landscaping to block sight lines onto our family’s property.”

Despite their efforts, they may not be able to prevent the arrival of new families in their neighborhood.

Within the elite community of Atherton, the zip code has been deemed the “most expensive” in the nation by Forbes in the current year.
