At Sony’s CES event, the PlayStation 5 DualSense controller showcased its versatility by being used to control a real car, marking a groundbreaking collaboration between Sony and Honda, reports Tech Spot.

The president of Sony Honda Mobility, Izumi Kawanishi, demonstrated the innovative partnership by driving the company’s first electric vehicle, the Afeela, onstage using the PS5 input device.

The audience witnessed the yoke steering wheel responding to Kawanishi’s control via the DualSense controller, providing a glimpse into the potential fusion of gaming technology and real-world applications.

“We believe that software can define new function and value. We want to redefine the relationship between people and mobility,” he said.

However, Kawanishi clarified that the use of the controller was specifically for the tech showcase and not intended for practical driving purposes.
