Singer DaniLeigh, whose real name is Danielle Leigh Curiel, was arrested in Miami for a hit-and-run occurrence allegedly involving driving under the influence, reports USA Today.

Law enforcement responded to the incident just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday, as stated in an arrest report obtained by USA Today. DaniLeigh faces charges for leaving the scene of the accident causing serious bodily harm, driving under the influence, and causing property or personal damage while driving under the influence.

Witnesses informed the police that they saw DaniLeigh operating a gray Mercedes Benz at a high speed and swerving through traffic. She collided with a motorist on a moped and proceeded to drive away from the scene, according to witness testimonies shared with law enforcement.

According to a report, several individuals attempted to grab DaniLeigh’s attention as she continued to “drag the moped” without stopping. The incident resulted in injuries for the unidentified moped driver, including a spinal fracture and kidney laceration. They were promptly taken to a Miami hospital for treatment.

Initially, law enforcement tried to pull over the 28-year-old singer, but she initially refused to comply. However, after the officer honked multiple times, she eventually pulled over. Police officers noticed DaniLeigh exhibiting slow responses and detected the smell of alcohol, further noting that the passenger in the vehicle appeared to be intoxicated.

DaniLeigh and her passenger were detained by police after their car was found damaged, suggesting a potential crash. In response to officers’ inquiries, DaniLeigh stated that she was returning from a Memorial Day celebration and denied both colliding with another vehicle and consuming any alcohol.

However, she agreed to undergo field sobriety tests, which she reportedly failed. At the police station, her blood alcohol concentration was measured at 0.145 and 0.148 in two tests, nearly double the legal limit of 0.08 in Florida.
