Senate Issues Caution to Ticketmaster Surrounding Beyoncé Tour

February 3, 2023 | By Kali Girl

Ticketmaster is under fire from the U.S. Senate as it prepares to sell tickets for Beyoncé’s highly-anticipated world tour, according to TMZ. This scrutiny comes in the wake of the Taylor Swift controversy and after the Senate Judiciary Committee recently questioned Ticketmaster’s parent company, Live Nation.

On Thursday, the committee issued a stern warning, solidifying their stance on the matter just a day after Bey announced her “Renaissance” tour.

The committee’s Twitter account tagged Ticketmaster expressing concern over potential ticketing issues for Beyoncé fans.

The tweet simply read “We’re watching, @ Ticketmaster.”

Despite these efforts, the Senate will still be closely monitoring the process.

Beyoncé’s presale tickets go on sale next week, giving Ticketmaster its first opportunity to redeem itself.

According to NPR, ticket sales in the United Kingdom were approximately $245 for standard options, with VIP “on stage” seats costing up to $2,940. Beyoncé has not disclosed the cost of Renaissance World Tour tickets in the US.

The Renaissance World Tour is scheduled to start on May 10 in Sweden at the Stockholm’s Friends Arena, ending September 27 at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
