Russell Simmons’ $100K Court Loss Exposed Amid Family Drama

June 21, 2023 | By Kali Girl

According to Hip Hop DX, Russell Simmons recently shelled out a hefty sum of $100,000 to his former spouse, Kimora Lee, just before the family unleashed a barrage of accusations against the music mogul for alleged abuse.

The tense situation within the family unfolded on Father’s Day, with Simmons’ eldest daughter, Ming, extending Father’s Day wishes to her mother, Kimora, via her Instagram Story.

In response, Simmons opted to share a meme that carried the following message: “Stop telling fathers they should have fought harder to see their children and start asking mothers why he had to fight at all.”

Kimora confronted her ex-husband’s remarks head-on through an Instagram Live session. She didn’t hold back and accused him of feigning closeness despite her having cut off all contact with him on social media long ago. Their youngest daughter, Aoki, chimed in, sharing hurtful messages from her father and a silent clip capturing his apparent fury during a FaceTime call.

According to RadarOnline, amidst the ongoing drama, it has come to light that Simmons was required to pay a hefty sum of $100,000 to Kimora Lee just months before his daughters accused him of abuse.

This revelation follows Russell’s prior lawsuit against his ex-wife and her investment banker spouse in 2021, alleging their unauthorized acquisition of his 4 million shares in the energy drink Celsius.

In his lawsuit, Simmons alleged that the couple utilized the funds to cover legal expenses tied to the husband’s federal fraud case, resulting in his conviction and a hefty restitution amount of $43.7 million.

Meanwhile, in November 2022, Kimora triumphed in a breach of contract claim and was granted $100k in legal fees related to the same case. Notably, the legal proceedings are still ongoing.

In response to his family’s critiques, Simmons extended an apology on Monday (June 19), expressing on Instagram that “God is testing” his daughters.

“God is testing you a little bit, it’s ok, be strong. . . they are called growing pains,” he wrote alongside a photo of Ming and Aoki. “As you know, we grow through adversity and struggle . . . you read my books and heard me preach your whole childhood . . . reach back to old lessons and remember to  ‘smile and breathe’ [heart emoji] ‘smile and breathe.’”

He continued: “You are the watchers of this world . . . so let go . . . be at ease . . . God is driving and he is working on you [heart emoji]. DEEPLY sorry for being frustrated and yelling . . . but know this . . . there are no conditions . . . for sure i love you guys more than i love myself.”
