March 21, 2023 | By Kali Girl

In a brewing family feud, the Isley Brothers are at odds with Rudolph Isley accusing his younger brother Ronald of possible betrayal and cutting him out of a significant amount of money.

According to a TMZ exclusive, Rudolph is taking legal action against Ronald over the ownership of “The Isley Brothers” trademark. Rudolph claims that Ronald, without his knowledge, secured the trademark in his name and continues to make a profit.

Rudolph, co-founder of the group alleged that his brother Ronald breached their 50/50 profit split agreement. Rudolph claims they both had equal ownership of the band since their brother O’Kelly’s death in 1986. However, Ronald recently obtained exclusive rights to use “The Isley Brothers” without Rudolph’s approval.

Without the approval of Rudolph, Ronald can use the trademark for “visual recordings and audiovisual recordings featuring music and animation.”

According to Rudolph, his brother Ronald submitted an application to trademark “The Isley Brother” in his name back in November 2021. However, Rudolph claims they had previously split the profits for various lucrative deals, including a multimillion-dollar publishing agreement.

Rudolph is seeking legal intervention to determine how much money Ronald’s made since taking over ownership, as well as petitioning the court to acknowledge joint ownership of the trademark.

In addition, he’s requesting that Ronald pay him half of the profits gained since taking ownership of the trademark.
