February 1, 2023 | By Kali Girl

According to TMZ, the Louisiana rapper dropped 8 full-length projects in 2022, but it looks like he’s not feeling himself as much as fans are. According to Billboard, the rapper is expressing regret over the content of his lyrics and desires to make a change. He’s converting to Mormonism and pivoting his lyrical direction to align with his new beliefs.

Taking accountability for how his music may impact his fans, 23 years old, YoungBoy is grappling with the weight of his influence as a street rapper. Despite the controversial lyrics in his music, he can’t erase his past. However, he’s committed to making a change, one day at a time.

House arrest may have limited his freedom, but it’s also given him the chance to find inner peace. In Utah, YoungBoy has gotten close to missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He even has plans to get baptized with them once he’s cleared by the authorities to leave without monitoring.

With this newfound clarity, YoungBoy is ready to take responsibility for the impact his music has on his fans.
