Renowned rapper and producer Pras Michel, famous for his time as a member of the popular 90s hip-hop group The Fugees, faced a major setback on Wednesday as federal prosecutors convicted him on all 10 felony counts of conspiracy.

According to CNN, Michel, has been found guilty on multiple counts relating to a failed conspiracy aimed at helping Malaysian businessman Jho Low and the Chinese government gain access to former US presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump.

“We are extremely disappointed in that result but are very, very confident in the ultimate outcome of this case,” Kenner told reporters, adding: “If we do move to a sentencing hearing I remain very confident we will certainly appeal this case. This is not over.”

During recent testimony, Michel testified that Low had allegedly paid him $20 million in 2012 for a photo alongside then-President Obama. Prosecutors also alleged that Michel used over $800,000 of those funds to funnel donations to Obama’s campaign via straw donors.

The charges against Michel include conspiracy to defraud the US, witness tampering, and acting as an unregistered agent of a foreign government. He now faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison. No sentencing date set at this time.
