The Migos rapper Quavo is prepared to star in the new action thriller flick titled Takeover. The film will be produced by Quality Films, a new film branch under Quality Control. In the past Quavo dipped his toe in acting with cameos in Black-ish, Atlanta, and Narcos: Mexico. However, the film Takeover will serve as his first lead role.

In the film, Quavo will play Guy Miller, a former thief who’s attempting to get his life on track when he’s disrupted by circumstances placing him back into Atlanta’s dangerous street racing scene. The film will explore the allure of stunts and the sideshow culture.

“I’m really excited for this opportunity, especially shooting in my hometown of Atlanta,” Quavo said in a statement. “This film is an ideal opportunity to further delve into my craft, and I can’t wait to see how the action plays out in this animated environment.”

The flick is written by Jeb Stuart. Stuart previously wrote classic actions films such as The Fugitive and Die Hard. The co-production deal was inked last March between Trioscope and Quality Films. Triscope will weave the live-action scenes with animation and Greg Jonkajtys, who directed Netflix’s film The Liberator will serve as Takeover’s director.

“The film brings together the industry’s most talented visionaries both on and off the screen,” Quality Films head Brian Sher told Deadline. “We’re thrilled to deliver an unparalleled edge-of-your-seat ride that will introduce many viewers to a world they never knew existed.”
