In a verdict reached by the jury, Eric Ronald Holder Jr. was found guilty of the murder of the late hip-hop icon, Hussle, who was shot outside his clothing store in March 2019. According to the prosecutors, Holder had approached Hussle with accusations of being labeled as a “snitch,” which resulted in the fatal shooting.

According to CNN, Holder was handed a sentence of up to 25 years for the murder of Hussle and an additional 25 years for firearm enhancements that were added to the charge. In addition to the murder charge, Holder was also convicted of two counts of attempted voluntary manslaughter for causing injury to two other individuals who were present at the time of the incident. As a result, Holder was given an extra 10-year sentence.

In a gesture of remorse, Holder’s father wrote a letter to the court expressing his apologies on behalf of his son for his actions.

“I know there are not enough words or apologies that will fill the void, the loss, the pain, the deep sorrow the family of Ermias Asghedom (Nipsey Hussle) is experiencing. You cannot imagine the agony, the grief, the utter disbelief and devastation I feel knowing my son, Eric Jr., took another person’s life,” said the letter, which was read aloud for the record.

He went on to open up about his Eric’s upbringing, mental state, and the loss of his mother approximately two months prior to the fatal shooting Hussle.
