Malcolm X’s Family Sues for $100M, Alleging Assassination Coverup

The family of Malcolm X plan to file a $100 million wrongful death lawsuit against federal and state government agencies for allegedly covering up evidence related to his assassination, reports The Hill.

This move follows the recent success of Muhammad Abdul Aziz and Khalil Islam, who were wrongly convicted of the killing and awarded $36 million by New York after decades of incarceration.

The family of Malcolm X firmly believes that they too deserve to be rightfully compensated.

“If the government compensated the two gentlemen that were wrongfully convicted for the assassination of Malcolm X with tens of millions of dollars, then what is to be the compensation for the daughters who suffered the most from the assassination of Malcolm X?” their attorney Ben Crump said.

This announcement was made on the 58th anniversary of Malcolm X’s untimely death. Civil rights advocates argue that law enforcement and the government played a role in his assassination. Malcolm X was 39 at the time of his demise.
