Orlando Brown, a former Disney Channel star best known for his role as Eddie Thomas on “That’s So Raven,” pleaded not guilty to misdemeanor assault charges on Friday in Ohio. The actor was arrested by Lima Police Department officials on Thursday and arraigned in Lima Municipal Court, where he was charged with aggravated menacing, a first-degree misdemeanor assault charge according to the LA Times.

On Thursday, 35-year-old Brown was taken into custody and held on a cash bond in Lima, Ohio, according to court records. At the time of this writing, it is unclear if Brown has been assigned an attorney. The arrest stems from a reported fight at a residence on the 400 block of South Baxter Street, where Brown is said to have engaged in an altercation that resulted in an arrest for suspicion of domestic violence involving imminent physical harm by threat of force. However, the charge was later downgraded in court.

According to an arrest report, a relative of Brown’s told police that Brown had been behaving erratically inside the residence and “came at him with a hammer and knife in a threatening manner.” The relative also stated that he had been allowing Brown to stay with him for approximately two weeks “because [Brown] is homeless and he did not want him to go to a homeless shelter,” according to People.

According to the report, the relative claimed that they believed Orlando was going to attack them. It’s not yet clear who owned the home where the incident took place, or if the other person involved was related to Brown. However, TMZ reported that the individual has been identified as a man named Matthew, who claimed to be Brown’s brother. However, it has since been clarified that they are not actually blood relatives.

Brown has had a tumultuous decade, facing a number of legal challenges including arrests for DUI, burglary, drug possession, resisting a public officer, and domestic battery. Currently, the actor is being held in Allen County jail without bond. It is not known at this time if Wayans has entered a plea or secured legal representation.
