Donald Glover has said farewell to “Atlanta” and opened a new chapter with his highly anticipated TV series “Swarm.” The show stars Dominique Fishback as Dre, a young woman with an obsession for a Beyoncé-like fictional pop star, reports Billboard.

Glover, known for his experiences with fans’ parasocial relationships with artists through his alter ego Childish Gambino, teamed up with “Atlanta” writer and producer Janine Nabers, who serves as the showrunner for “Swarm.”

Swarm delves into the dark side of Dre’s fandom with star-studded cast. R&B sensation Chlöe Bailey takes on the role of Marissa, Dre’s sister, alongside Damson Idris from the Fox crime drama Snowfall, as her boyfriend.

Showrunner Nabers praised Bailey’s understanding of the music industry and her powerful connection to sisterhood, citing the star’s close relationship with her own sibling and Grammy-nominated sister duo partner, Halle Bailey. With a debut solo project on the horizon, Bailey is set to bring her incredible talent to this much-anticipated series.

“A lot of people did it out of the kindness of their hearts and they did a really great job,” Glover added. “Dom, Damson, Chloe. I was really blown away at how hard they worked on the tone, ’cause it’s a strange one.”

Making her own waves in the entertainment industry, Malia Obama also joined the writer’s room of Swarm. This was confirmed, Donald Glover, last spring in an interview with Vanity Fair, where he amazingly talented person” and “really focused” when it comes to her job.

The series is set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on March 10.
