Diddy Resolves Racism Dispute with Diageo in Legal Settlement

January 16, 2024 | By Kali Girl

In a resolution seven months after Sean “Diddy” Combs filed a lawsuit against Diageo, both parties have reached a settlement, reports PEOPLE. The complaint, lodged in June 2023 by the music mogul’s Combs Wines and Spirits LLC, accused Diageo of racial discrimination and neglecting to promote his Ciroc and DeLeon brands. Combs asserted that the spirits company labeled these brands as “Black brands” meant exclusively for “urban” consumers.

The joint statement announcing the settlement was obtained by PEOPLE on Tuesday.

“Mr. Combs has withdrawn all of his allegations about Diageo and will voluntarily dismiss his lawsuits against Diageo with prejudice,” continued the company’s statement. “Diageo and Mr. Combs have no ongoing business relationship, either with respect to Cîroc vodka or DeLeón tequila, which Diageo now solely owns.”
