C-Murder Enlists Attorney Ben Crump & Baton Rouge NAACP

C-Murder is making a strong bid for freedom with the backing of high-profile attorney Ben Crump and the Baton Rouge NAACP President reports Hip Hop DX. In a major move, the rapper’s renewed push for justice has garnered support from the prominent civil rights organization.

On May 4th, the Baton Rouge NAACP released a statement expressing their endorsement of C-Murder, which was shared on his Instagram page. The announcement showcased the organization’s unwavering support for the former No Limit Records artist and his fight for exoneration.

On May 4, the NAACP’s press release read, “The NAACP Louisiana State Conference is proud to announce that Eugene Collins, President of the NAACP Baton Rouge Branch, will be taking on a special assignment and joining Corey Miller’s team in advocating for his innocence.

President Collins will be working with FFO Investigations, led by Ms. Kasandra Washington,” the statement begins. 

“We believe that justice must be served, and that Corey Miller deserves a fair trial,” said Eugene Collins. “We will do everything in our power to support his legal team and to raise awareness about his case.”

The NAACP is teaming up with Corey Miller’s publicist, Lisa Jackson, and his manager, Steven Johnson, in the fight for justice and equality. Attorneys Ben Crump and Ronald Haley are also joining the cause.

Miller, who goes by the stage name C-Murder, was found guilty of the 2002 murder of 16-year-old Steve Thompson and has been serving a life sentence at the Louisiana Department of Corrections since 2009.
