AMC Theaters, the largest movie theater chain in the US, is introducing a new pricing model that varies ticket costs based on seat location, according to Variety. The initiative, called Sightline at AMC, aligns with many music venues, sporting events, and Broadway shows price tickets, with front row seats being cheaper and center seats being pricier, reports Complex.

“Sightline at AMC more closely aligns AMC’s seat pricing approach to that of many other entertainment venues, offering experienced-based pricing and another way for moviegoers to find value at the movies,” said AMC Theaters executive VP and CMO Eliot Hamlisch.

“While every seat at AMC delivers an amazing moviegoing experience, we know there are some moviegoers who prioritize their specific seat and others who prioritize value moviegoing. Sightline at AMC accommodates both sentiments to help ensure that our guests have more control over their experience, so that every trip to an AMC is a great one.”

Standard Sightline described as “seats that are the most common in auditoriums and are available for the traditional cost of a ticket.”

AMC will launch on Friday, February 10 in Chicago, New York, and Kansas City, with a nationwide rollout to follow. Value Sightline seats, the cheapest of the three options, will offer front-row auditorium seating and select ADA seats at a discounted price compared to Standard Sightline.

This exclusive option is only available at select AMC theaters, and only for showtimes starting at 4 p.m. and beyond. Discount Tuesday tickets will still be a available at $5, no matter where you choose to sit.
