4.9 Million Units of Colgate-Palmolive’s Fabuloso Cleaner Recalled Over Bacterial Exposure Concerns

Colgate-Palmolive, a major player in the consumer household goods industry, has announced a recall affecting approximately 4.9 million units of their Fabuloso multipurpose cleaner, according to NBC News. The move comes after concerns were raised that the product may contain a harmful bacteria known as Pseudomonas-species.

The announcement was made on Wednesday through the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website. Pseudomonas-species bacteria is a type of environmental organism commonly found in soil and water.

The Fabuloso website states “With inadequate preservative, there is a risk of bacteria growth in the recalled products.

The affected products were produced between December 14, 2022, and January 23, 2023.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the bacteria can enter the body through the eyes body through the eyes, open wounds, or inhalation. Individuals with compromised immune systems, medical devices, or respiratory illnesses may face significant danger of infection upon exposure.

However, individuals with strong immune systems are unlikely to experience adverse effects.
